CONTINUUS Pharmaceuticals is a Massachusetts-based spinout of the Novartis-MIT Center for Continuous Manufacturing. We are leveraging a novel manufacturing platform called Integrated Continuous Manufacturing (ICM). With ICM, we were able to take a 200-day batch manufacturing process and reduce it to just two days. Additional benefits of ICM, compared to batch manufacturing, include reductions in cost, footprint, and environmental impact, as well as improvements in quality.
We work with pharmaceutical and generic companies to transition their outdated batch processes to ICM ones. We also provide them with our unique proprietary unit operations (e.g., continuous filtration units), which have demonstrated superior performance to corresponding batch technologies. We have completed development of our lead candidate product (in partnership with a top-5 global pharma company) and anticipate commercial facility planning and building later this year (Q3-Q4 2025).
Our technology platform is uniquely designed to address many of the healthcare-related issues that have been highlighted in recent years. For example, ICM, with its automated, low-cost, and environmentally-friendly features is especially well positioned to be utilized for the reshoring of manufacturing of critical pharmaceuticals. This will also facilitate regional manufacturing of these drugs.
