Policy and Taxation Group (PATG) is the leading advocacy organization focused on protecting family offices and financially successful family businesses against destructive taxes imposed by Washington, DC. For more than 25 years, PATG has been a highly effective voice, advocating in a bipartisan manner to favorably influence legislation and producing numerous legislative accomplishments.
Founded in 1995, PATG is actively working towards the repeal of estate gift and generation-skipping transfer (GST) taxes, and against increased income and capital gain taxes, the creation of a wealth tax, and other taxes that significantly limit the ability of these businesses to remain family owned.
PATG is comprised of the most prominent families and private family businesses in the nation. PATG provides our supporters with Washington, DC insider information, regular updates, critical situational awareness and an effective voice with decision makers in the nation’s capital. Leading pollster Frank Luntz is our advisor.
Our team includes two of the foremost lobbying firms in Washington, DC comprised of former Congressional staffers who worked for the key committees writing tax policy and former senior Treasury Department officials who are subject matter experts and have access to the decision makers.
We have several fly ins to Washington, DC each year where we provide a seat at the table to meet with Members of Congress. We are also working with the Congressional Family Business Caucus to educate legislators on the important contributions of family business to the economy, philanthropy, and communities.
